Fake Grass
When a team in USA led by David Chaney produced the first acceptable artificial turf in 1960, artificial grass looked just like fake grass. Today with major improvement, you need to look very closely before you can decide if it is synthetic grass or not. Recently, the use of synthetic grass has increased every year and now it has become a very profitable industry.
Although it cost more to install synthetic grass compared to natural grass, the long term benefits and up keep cost make it a much better option. The turf is durable and resistant and will accommodate the heaviest of use and remain lush green and attractive. In addition there are no weeds so there is no need to use weed or moss killer. There is also no need for fertilisers and pesticides. In the USA it is shocking the amount of these chemical regularly used on lawns.
Everyone today is keep to protect the planet. Water is an important resource. Unfortunately as much as 75% of water used by households in summer in USA goes on watering lawns. Grass looks limp, brown or dead without watering in dry spells. Fake grass does not need any water. Your artificial grass will look lush and vibrant in all weather and you can use it all year round. You save water. If your house has a water meter, you will also save money.
There is a positive gain to the environment when you change over from natural grass to artificial grass lawns. You do not have to mow the lawn anymore and there are no cut grass to collect and store. Petrol mowers rank very high as major polluters globally. As there is no cut grass to collect, there will be no release of greenhouse gas, methane. When collected cut grass decomposes, methane is released. You are, therefore, helping planet Earth and going green by the change over.
Seasonal allergies mainly relate to spring and summer when pollen counts are high. Hayfever and asthma are increasing. No one knows why but we do know grass pollen allergy is an important factor. Some individuals suffer badly when the grass pollen count is high. When the summer weather is great, hayfever sufferers tend to stay indoor with the windows closed. If they have artificial grass installed, then they can play or relax outdoors on there pollen free lawn.
